Self Esteem
Self-esteem is the way we see, evaluate, and feel about ourselves. It is our inner voice that determines whether we feel “worthy,” whether we believe in our abilities, and whether we respect ourselves.
When self-esteem is healthy, we can accept our mistakes without being defeated, assert our needs, set boundaries, and maintain meaningful relationships. Conversely, when it is low, we may feel inadequate, downplay our strengths, or rely too much on the validation of others.
Self-esteem is not static—it is influenced by experiences, relationships, childhood, and social environment. The good news is that it can be strengthened through awareness, personal development, and—where necessary—psychotherapy.
